Translate a Shopify product CSV, every product, HTML and handles kept
Upload the products CSV you exported from Shopify and get the same file back with titles, descriptions, image alt text and SEO fields translated. Handles, SKUs, prices, image links and the empty variant rows stay exactly as they were, so the file imports the same way. The first rows are free without an account; the whole file, up to 5,000 cells, is $5, paid once.
- Suggested columns: Title, Body (HTML), Image Alt Text, SEO Title, SEO Description
- Never suggested: Handle, Variant SKU, prices, Image Src, Option values, Tags, Vendor
- Body (HTML): tags and attributes kept; only the words between tags are translated
- Translate & Adapt export: the Translated content column is filled, Default content is kept
- Up to 5,000 cells for one payment of $5; a product with title and description uses two

Every row back. Only the text changed.
Handles, SKUs, prices and empty variant rows come back exactly as they were. In the HTML column the tags stay where they are and only the words between them are translated.

Which Shopify file to use
There are two kinds of CSV, and which one you want depends on how your store sells in the new language. The products CSV (Products, then Export) holds one row per variant with columns such as Handle, Title, Body (HTML) and Variant SKU. Translate it when you are filling a separate store for that language, or preparing a catalog for a marketplace or a supplier.
If one store sells in several languages, Shopify keeps translations separately from the products, and you can export them as a CSV from the Languages settings. That file has a Default content column and a Translated content column for each field. The tool recognizes it: it translates Default content into the empty Translated content cells and leaves the rows that already have a translation alone, so you can import the file back.
Why the import keeps working
- The header row is never translated, so Shopify still finds its columns
- Every row comes back in the same place, including variant rows with an empty title
- Handles stay as they are; Shopify matches products by handle, so a changed handle would create a new product
- Quotes, commas and line breaks inside cells are written back the way the CSV format requires
- Option values such as Red or XL are not suggested, because variants are matched by them; tick them yourself if your new store should use translated option names
Before you import
Importing a products CSV into the same store with "Overwrite products with matching handles" switched on replaces the existing text with the translation. That is what you want for a store in the new language, not for your original store. If in doubt, import into a development store first, or use the translations export described above.
How the tool works, what it costs and how your files are handled is on the Translate CSV & Excel page; prices for every tool are on the pricing page.

Questions and answers
Does it translate the Body (HTML) column without breaking it?
Yes. Tags are replaced with markers before translation and put back afterwards, so classes, links, image sources and alt attributes inside the HTML stay as they were. Each answer is checked to contain every marker; a cell that fails twice keeps its original text and is listed for you.
How many products fit in one payment?
One payment covers up to 5,000 translated cells and 300,000 characters. A product uses one cell per translated field: two with title and description, five with alt text and both SEO fields as well. Variant rows with empty text do not count.
Can I keep my brand name and product line names?
Yes. List them under "Never translate" and every translated cell is checked to still contain them.
Does it work with WooCommerce exports too?
Yes. Any CSV works the same way: choose the text columns, such as Name, Description and Short description, and leave IDs, SKUs and prices out.
