What you get back
One PDF of the whole conversation, laid out to be read, printed or handed to someone else. A cover page names the chat, the people in it, the period it covers and the export file it was made from. Then come the messages, in order, grouped by day.
- Each message with its number, sender, date and time as Telegram wrote them in the export. Times are not converted to another time zone.
- Voice messages and round video messages written out word for word in a box at the point they were sent, with their length, file name and detected language.
- Replies point to the message they answer by number ("reply to #12"); forwarded messages name where they came from; edited messages are marked.
- If you choose a translation, it appears under the original text and under each transcript. The original always comes first.
- Photos and stickers shown in the flow of the chat; videos as a still frame with their length; files, locations, contacts and polls listed in place.
- An index of every voice message at the end, and the same content as plain text (TXT) and as a spreadsheet (CSV) with one row per message.
Doing it in a chatbot, and with this tool
ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini can read a short chat you paste in. A Telegram export is different: a folder with a result.json or several messages.html pages, plus one .ogg file for every voice message.

How to turn a Telegram chat into a PDF

Export the chat from Telegram Desktop
On a computer, open the chat in Telegram Desktop, click ⋮ (top right) → Export chat history. Tick Photos, Voice messages and Video messages, choose the format (JSON is best; HTML works too) and click Export. The phone apps do not have this option.

Zip the folder and upload it
Telegram saves a folder named ChatExport with the date. Compress it into a .zip (right-click → Compress, or Send to → Compressed folder) and drop it here. Pick a translation language if you need one. No account is needed.

Why chat assistants cannot do this one
A Telegram export is a folder: result.json (or messages.html, messages2.html and so on, a thousand messages per page) plus subfolders such as voice_messages, round_video_messages, photos and files. The text only says that a voice message was sent and where its .ogg file is; the words are inside the audio. A chat assistant reading the text sees file names, and a long conversation gets summarised or cut off.
This tool reads the export the way it is built. It goes through the chat message by message, follows every reference to its file, and sends each voice message to a speech model on its own. Message 5,000 gets the same treatment as message 5.
What people use it for

Accuracy, evidence and what this is not
Voice messages are transcribed by an AI speech model, word for word, in the language spoken. It is accurate on clear speech, but background noise, several people talking at once and heavy slang can produce mistakes; unclear words are marked [inaudible]. Translations are machine translations. For anything that matters, check the passage against the original audio, which stays in your export folder.
The PDF is a readable record, not a certified transcript or a certified translation, and it does not prove on its own that a conversation took place. Courts and agencies set their own rules for chat evidence. The SHA-256 fingerprint on the cover lets anyone confirm which export file the PDF was made from; keep that file unchanged.
Getting a complete export
Only Telegram Desktop, the computer app for Windows, macOS and Linux, can export a chat; log in with your phone number and the chat is there. In the export window, tick Voice messages and Video messages, or Telegram leaves them out and the PDF can only say the file was not included. Raise the size limit if you also want large videos. Secret chats cannot be exported, because they exist only on the phone where they were started, and Telegram does not export groups that restrict saving content.
If you used Settings → Advanced → Export Telegram data for your whole account, upload that too and type the name of the person or group under "Which conversation"; otherwise the longest chat in the file is used. Uploads can be up to 2 GB in total.

How do I convert a Telegram chat to PDF with the voice messages?
In Telegram Desktop, open the chat, click ⋮ → Export chat history, tick Voice messages and Photos, and export. Zip the folder it creates, upload it here and download the PDF. Every voice message is written out where it was sent. The first messages are free; the whole chat is $5, paid once.
Can I export a Telegram chat from my phone?
The Telegram phone apps do not export chat history. Install Telegram Desktop on a computer, log in with the same number, and use Export chat history there. Your chats sync, so the conversation is already on the computer.
Should I choose JSON or HTML in the export window?
Either works. JSON (machine-readable) is slightly better: it also records when a message was edited, which the HTML pages leave out. HTML exports are read page by page, including messages2.html, messages3.html and so on.
Can it translate Russian or Ukrainian voice messages into English?
Yes, in the same pass. Choose English when you upload and every text message and every voice-message transcript gets a translation printed underneath. The original always comes first, so both stay on the record. Mixed Russian and Ukrainian speech is written as spoken.
Are replies and forwarded messages shown?
Yes. A reply shows the number of the message it answers, a forwarded message names where it was forwarded from, edited messages are marked and reactions are listed under the message.
Is the PDF accepted as evidence in court?
That is for the court or agency to decide. The PDF is a readable record with exact senders, dates and times and a SHA-256 fingerprint of the export file, but it is not a certified transcript or translation. Ask your lawyer what they need.
How much does it cost?
The first messages are free without an account. The whole chat is $5, paid once, for up to 10,000 messages, with PDF, TXT and CSV downloads. Unlimited costs $29 a month or $180 a year and covers every tool on the site.
Does a chat with many voice messages cost more?
No. The price is $5 per chat, whether it has three voice messages or three hundred, and translation is included. The only limit is the length of the chat: up to 10,000 messages for one payment.
Can it export a group or a channel?
Yes, any chat Telegram Desktop lets you export: private chats, groups and channels. Groups and channels that restrict saving content cannot be exported by Telegram itself, and secret chats are not available on the computer.
Is my chat private?
Only you can open your chat. The .zip you upload is deleted as soon as it has been unpacked. Voice messages and text are sent to an AI model provider only to transcribe and translate them, through routes that do not use your data for training. Chats uploaded without an account are deleted after 7 days, and you can delete a chat and its files at any time.
What if my chat is very long?
One payment covers up to 10,000 messages. Unlimited covers chats up to 30,000 messages. Uploads can be up to 2 GB; if your export is larger because of videos, export it again without them or write to us.
