From Facebook's download to a readable record
Facebook's Download your information file is the most complete copy of a Messenger conversation you can get yourself, but it is not readable as it is: the messages are split over several JSON files, newest first, every accented letter and emoji is stored in a broken encoding, and each voice message is a separate audio file. The PDF puts the conversation back together in date order, repairs the text and writes out every voice message where it was sent.
Facebook records each message in UTC. The PDF shows the times converted to the time zone of the browser you upload from, and says so on the cover, so nobody has to guess what "14:05" means.
Check that the whole conversation is there
Personal Messenger chats have been end-to-end encrypted by default since December 2023, and those messages are not in Download your information. If a conversation seems to stop early, download the encrypted part on messenger.com (Privacy & safety → End-to-end encrypted chats → Message storage → Download secure storage data) and upload it as well. Facebook's files do not record which message a reply answered, so replies appear in date order.
What this is not
NoCutoff does not certify documents and does not give legal advice. Whether and how a chat record can be used depends on the court and the country. Keep the downloaded file unchanged: the fingerprint on the cover is only useful as long as that file exists.

Questions and answers
Is the PDF accepted as evidence?
That depends on the court and the country, and on how the conversation was obtained. The PDF is a complete, numbered transcript of the download with its fingerprint; your lawyer decides how to use it.
Can I include only part of the conversation?
The tool processes the whole conversation so that nothing is left out by accident. You can cite the relevant messages by their numbers.
My download has many conversations. Do I pay for all of them?
No. Type the person's name under "Which conversation" and only that one is processed; the price is $5 for that conversation.
Who can see the conversation?
Only you. Jobs are private, are not used to train AI models, and can be deleted from your account at any time.
