A Telegram chat as one PDF for your lawyer or a court

What a Telegram record needs to show
Telegram conversations carry more structure than most: a message can be a reply to an earlier one, a forward from another chat or channel, or edited after it was sent. A screenshot shows none of that reliably, and a summary from a chat assistant loses it entirely. The PDF keeps it: "reply to #12", "forwarded from" with the original source, and an "edited" mark, next to each message.
The cover page lists the chat name, the participants, the date range and the SHA-256 fingerprint of the export you uploaded. Anyone holding the same file can compute the same fingerprint and confirm the PDF was made from it. Times are copied from the export without converting them; HTML exports also record the UTC offset, which is printed on the cover.
Making the export
Use Export chat history in Telegram Desktop with Voice messages, Video messages and Photos ticked, and keep the folder it creates unchanged. The JSON format also records when each message was edited. Telegram does not export secret chats, which exist only on one phone, or groups that restrict saving content.
What this is not
NoCutoff does not certify documents and does not give legal advice. Whether and how a chat record can be used depends on the court and the country, and a court may require a certified translator for voice messages in another language. The PDF gives your lawyer and that translator a complete, searchable starting point.

Questions and answers
Is the PDF accepted as evidence?
That depends on the court and the country, and on how the chat was obtained. The PDF is a complete, numbered transcript of the export with its fingerprint; your lawyer decides how to use it.
Does it show deleted messages?
No. Telegram exports only the messages that still exist in the chat, and the PDF contains exactly what the export contains.
Are times converted to my time zone?
No. Dates and times are printed as Telegram wrote them in the export, which uses the time zone of the computer that made it. HTML exports name that offset, and the cover shows it.
Who can see the chat?
Only you. Jobs are private, are not used to train AI models, and can be deleted from your account at any time.
