Discord Chat to PDF
Discord chat to PDF: a whole DM or channel, numbered and dated
Upload a DiscordChatExporter export or the data package Discord sends you, and get one PDF of a DM or channel: every message numbered with its date and time, replies linked to the message they answer, images in place, voice messages written out, reactions, edits and calls marked. The first messages are free, with no sign-up. The whole chat costs $5: one payment, no subscription.
- Reads DiscordChatExporter exports in JSON, HTML, TXT and CSV, and the data package from Discord's "Request all of my data"
- Replies point to the number of the message they answer; reactions, edits and calls are kept
- Voice messages transcribed word for word, with an optional translation into English or 38 other languages
- Images shown in place when the export includes media
- A clear "one side only" warning when the source is Discord's data package
- SHA-256 fingerprint of the uploaded file on the first page · PDF, TXT and CSV downloads
- One flat $5 per DM or channel, up to 10,000 messages · chats of up to 150 messages free in full, first messages of longer ones free
What you get back
One PDF of one DM, group DM or channel, laid out to be read, printed or handed to a lawyer, the police or a platform. A cover page names the chat, the people in it, the period it covers, how many messages, images and voice messages it holds, and the file it was made from. Then come the messages, in order, grouped by day.
- Each message with its number, sender, date and time.
- Replies marked "reply to #n", so a reader can see what each answer refers to.
- Voice messages written out word for word in a box, with their length and detected language.
- Images shown where they were sent when the export includes media; otherwise listed by file name.
- Reactions, edited messages and calls (with their length when the export has it) marked where they happened.
- The same messages as plain text (TXT) and as a spreadsheet (CSV), one row per message.
Other ways to keep a Discord conversation
For a handful of messages, screenshots are quick. When the conversation is long, or someone may later say it was edited or cut, they are a weak record.
| What you need | Screenshots or a chatbot | This tool |
|---|---|---|
| Ten messages for a quick report | Screenshots work well | Works too, but you do not need it |
| A DM of 3,000 messages | Hundreds of screenshots, easy to dispute as cropped | One numbered document in order, up to 10,000 messages per chat |
| Voice messages | Cannot be screenshotted | Transcribed word for word, with an optional translation |
| An export file | A chatbot reads part of a long export and cannot return a document | Reads every message in the file |
| Who replied to what | Lost when messages are far apart | Every reply points to the number of the message it answers |
| Proof of which file it came from | None | SHA-256 fingerprint of the uploaded file on the cover |
How to turn a Discord chat into a PDF
-
1
Get the messages out of Discord
With DiscordChatExporter, export the DM or channel as JSON with "Download assets" turned on and zip the .json file together with its _Files folder; HTML, TXT or CSV exports work too. Or request your data in Discord's Privacy & Safety settings and wait for the package.zip email.
-
2
Upload it and check the first messages free
Drop the file here. If it holds several chats, type a username or channel name under "Which conversation", or leave it empty for the longest. The first part appears in a few seconds with its images and voice messages.
-
3
Unlock the whole chat and download
Unlock it for $5 and download the PDF, the text file or the spreadsheet.
Two ways to get a Discord conversation out
Discord has no button to export a conversation. DiscordChatExporter, a free open-source app, saves a DM or channel with both sides of the conversation: as JSON (the most complete, and with "Download assets" it includes images and voice messages), or as HTML, TXT or CSV. With JSON, times are exact moments and are shown in the time zone of the browser you upload from; HTML, TXT and CSV exports keep the times as the exporting computer wrote them.
Discord's own data package, which you request in Privacy & Safety settings, is official but one-sided: it contains only the messages your account sent, not the replies, and it can take days to arrive. The tool reads it and says clearly on the cover that the other side is missing.
What people use it for
- Harassment, threats or doxxing in DMs, for the police, a lawyer or a school
- Scams and unpaid commissions or trades, with the payment and the promises in order
- Reporting a user to Discord Trust & Safety or a server's moderators with the full context
- Workplace or community disputes that happened on a server channel
- Keeping a conversation before a user deletes their account or their messages
Accuracy, evidence and what this is not
The text of each message is copied from the export as stored. Voice messages are transcribed by an AI speech model, word for word in the language spoken; unclear words are marked [inaudible]. Translations are machine translations. For anything that matters, check the passage against the original recording.
The PDF is a readable record of the export, not a forensic report, and it does not show messages that were deleted before the export was made. The SHA-256 fingerprint on the cover lets anyone confirm which file the PDF was made from; keep that file unchanged. NoCutoff does not give legal advice. Uploads can be up to 2 GB.

Questions and answers
How do I save a Discord DM as a PDF?
Export the DM with DiscordChatExporter (JSON with assets is the most complete), zip the .json with its _Files folder and upload it here. Check the first messages free, then unlock the whole DM for $5 and download the PDF.
Does Discord's own data package work?
Yes, but it holds only the messages your account sent, not the other person's. The PDF says "one side only" on the cover. For both sides of a conversation, use a DiscordChatExporter export.
Is DiscordChatExporter made by Discord?
No. It is an independent open-source app. Its own documentation notes that using it with a personal account token goes against Discord's terms of service, so read that before you use it. The data package is Discord's official route.
Are voice messages transcribed?
Yes, when the export includes them as files (DiscordChatExporter with "Download assets"). Each voice message is written out word for word with its length. Without the files, voice messages are listed by name.
Are images included?
When the export includes media, images are shown where they were sent. In an export without media, and in the data package, attachments are links to Discord's servers and are listed by file name.
Can I upload several channels at once?
Yes. Upload the files together or in one .zip and type the username or channel name you want. Each chat is a separate job.
Is the PDF accepted as evidence?
That is for the court, the police or your lawyer to decide. The PDF is a readable record with exact senders, dates and times and a SHA-256 fingerprint of the uploaded file, but it is not a forensic report. Ask your lawyer what they need.
Is my data private?
Only you can open your job. The file you upload is deleted as soon as it has been read. Voice messages and text are sent to an AI model provider only to transcribe and translate them, through routes that do not use your data for training. Jobs uploaded without an account are deleted after 7 days, and you can delete a job at any time.
How much does it cost?
The first messages are free without an account. One whole DM or channel is $5, paid once, for up to 10,000 messages, with PDF, TXT and CSV downloads. Unlimited costs $19 a week (it renews weekly, cancel any time) and covers every tool on the site. Small jobs are the exception: a chat of up to 150 messages, with up to 5 minutes of voice messages, is free in full, downloads included.
