Upload a Persian audio or video file of up to 6 hours and get the whole transcript in Persian script, with a timestamp on every paragraph and, if you want one, an English translation under each paragraph. A recording of up to 15 minutes is free in full; on a longer one the first part is free and the whole recording is $5, paid once.

Transcribe a long recording

By continuing you agree to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Spoken Persian, written as it was said

Everyday Persian is not the Persian of books. In conversation people say "miram" and "nemidunam" where formal writing has "miravam" and "nemidanam". The tool is instructed to write what was said, word for word, in Persian script, without turning colloquial Tehrani speech into formal written Persian. A sentence you quote from the transcript is then a sentence from the recording.

Many people type Persian in Finglish on their phones. Transcripts here are always in Persian script; Finglish output is not offered. If someone who will read the transcript does not read Persian script, choose English under "Also translate" and the translation appears under each paragraph.

Farsi, Dari and Tajik

Choose Persian as the spoken language for both Farsi and Dari. Dari is written in the same script, and the tool is told not to convert one into the other, so Dari words stay Dari words. Tajik Persian is written in Cyrillic and is not in the language list, so this page is not the right choice for a Tajik recording.

Right-to-left text in the downloads

The transcript is plain Unicode Persian, so it pastes cleanly into Google Docs, an email or a messaging app. In the PDF download, each paragraph that begins in Persian is set right to left. The Word file keeps the text exactly but lays paragraphs out left to right: select everything and switch the paragraph direction to right-to-left if you want it right-aligned.

When the speaker clearly changes, a paragraph starts with an English label such as "Speaker 1:". Names are used only when they are said in the recording. You can edit labels and text on screen before you download.

Long Persian recordings people bring

  • Research and journalism interviews of one to three hours
  • Family recordings and life stories told by parents and grandparents
  • Lectures, classes and religious talks
  • Immigration or asylum interviews where an adviser needs an English version next to the Persian

Questions and answers

Can it transcribe Persian that mixes in English or German?

Yes. Each part is written in its own language: Persian in Persian script, English or German in Latin letters. Nothing is translated unless you choose a translation.

Can I get the transcript in Finglish?

No. Persian speech is written in Persian script, which is the most exact record. For readers who do not read it, add the English translation.

Is a 3-hour Persian recording one payment?

Yes. $5 covers one recording of up to 6 hours, whatever its length within that. If you have several long files this week, Unlimited at $19 a week covers recordings of up to 12 hours each; it is a weekly subscription you can cancel any time.

Is there a Persian sample to look at first?

Not yet. The demo on this page is a lecture in English and Hindi. The fastest test is your own file: its first part is transcribed for free, without an account, before you decide to pay.

Who can see my recording?

Only you. The file is sent to an AI model provider to be transcribed and is not used to train models. Jobs started without an account are deleted after 7 days, and you can delete a job yourself at any time.
