Transcribe long Spanish recordings to text
Upload a Spanish audio or video file of up to 6 hours, recorded in Mexico, Spain, Argentina or anywhere else, and get the complete transcript with a timestamp at every paragraph. Add an English translation under each paragraph if someone else needs to read it. Up to 15 minutes is free in full; for longer recordings the first part is free and the whole file is $5, once.
- Every word in Spanish, accents and ñ included, never summarized
- Regional speech kept as said: voseo stays voseo, vosotros stays vosotros
- Spanglish written as spoken, the English parts in English
- Optional translation into English, Portuguese or another listed language
- Up to 6 hours per file for $5; several files of one session in one job
Real output from a demo recording. Click a timestamp to see where it sits in the audio.
Spanish from anywhere, written the way it was spoken
A recording from Buenos Aires sounds nothing like one from Madrid or Mexico City. The tool is instructed not to correct grammar or standardize, so "vos tenés" is not changed to "tú tienes", and a Spanish "vosotros" stays as it was. A transcript of an Argentine interview still reads as Argentine Spanish, which matters when you quote it.
Choose Spanish as the spoken language when the recording starts with music, an English introduction or a long silence, so the first minutes do not steer the language guess.
Spanglish and recordings that switch language
In the United States many conversations move between Spanish and English inside one sentence. Each part is written in its own language and nothing is translated unless you ask. Catalan, Galician and Basque are not in the language list: for a meeting that switches into Catalan, leave the language on Auto-detect and check the Catalan passages in the free first part.
Long Spanish recordings people bring
- Thesis interviews for a university in Spain or Latin America
- Online classes, webinars and conferences of two to three hours
- Hearings, depositions or interviews for a case in the US, with an English version for the lawyer
- Podcasts, sermons and radio programs saved as a file
Where it can go wrong
When several people talk at once, the overlapping words are marked [inaudible] rather than guessed. Names of people and small places are written as they sound, so check them. The tool gives you a raw transcript; it does not format interviews for a thesis appendix.
How the tool works, what it costs and how your files are handled is on the Long Audio & Video to Text page; prices for every tool are on the pricing page.

Questions and answers
Does it handle Mexican, Argentine and Spain Spanish?
Yes. There is one spoken language setting, Spanish, and every accent is written as spoken. There is no conversion between varieties.
Can I get subtitles from a Spanish video?
Yes. Besides TXT, Word and PDF, a finished transcript downloads as SRT or VTT. Line timings are spread from the paragraph timestamps, so they are close but not frame-exact.
Can it translate a Spanish recording into English?
Yes. Choose English under "Also translate" and the English appears under each Spanish paragraph. You can also add it after the transcript is done.
Is there a per-minute charge?
No. $5 covers the whole recording, up to 6 hours. A recording of up to 15 minutes is free in full, downloads included.
