Save it before it disappears

On Discord, the other person can delete their messages or their whole account, and the conversation is gone from your side too. Export the DM as soon as you think you may need it. DiscordChatExporter saves both sides of the conversation; Discord's own data package contains only the messages you sent.

Then turn the export into a document a reader can follow: every message numbered, replies pointing to the message they answer, voice messages written out, and the fingerprint of the file on the cover so anyone can check which export it came from.

What to include for a report

The whole conversation, not only the worst messages, so the context is clear
The usernames and, if you have them, the user IDs shown in the export
Payment receipts or images that were part of the conversation
The original export file, unchanged, next to the PDF

What this is not

NoCutoff does not give legal advice and does not certify documents. The PDF is a readable copy of the export, not a forensic report; messages deleted before the export was made are not in it. If you are in danger, contact the police first. Ask your lawyer how the messages can be used where you live.

Questions and answers

Is a Discord PDF accepted as evidence?

That depends on the court, the country and how the messages were obtained. The PDF is a complete, numbered record of the export with its fingerprint; your lawyer or the police decide how to use it.

The other person deleted their account. Can I still export the DM?

Messages already deleted from Discord cannot be exported. That is why it helps to export as soon as a conversation turns bad.

Can I hide my own phone number or address in the PDF?

Yes. Once the chat is unlocked, Redact and select on the job page can hide phone numbers, email addresses and words you choose, or leave out messages. Left-out messages are marked as withheld.

Who can see my messages?

Only you. Jobs are private, are not used to train AI models, and can be deleted from your account at any time.
