Transcribe many audio files in one job
Select up to 100 audio or video files at once and get every file transcribed in full, with timestamps counted from the start of that file. You download one merged document and a ZIP with a TXT and an SRT per file. A batch of up to 15 minutes in total is free in full; otherwise one payment of $5 covers up to 6 hours of audio in total.
- Up to 100 files per job, with 4 GB of uploads in total
- MP3, M4A, WAV, OPUS, AMR and video files such as MP4 and MOV in the same batch
- Files handled in name order; each one has its own timestamps from 0:00
- The same file uploaded twice is counted once
- Unlimited raises the total to 12 hours per job
How to transcribe several audio files at once
-
1
Select all the files
Choose up to 100 audio or video files in the upload box, or drop in one ZIP that contains them.
-
2
Set language and translation
Pick the spoken language or keep Auto-detect, and add a translation language only if you want one under each paragraph.
-
3
Download per file or merged
After payment, download the merged Word, PDF or TXT, or the ZIP with a numbered TXT and SRT for each file.
The slow part is doing them one by one
Twenty voice memos from a field trip, thirty recorded calls, a semester of short lectures: uploading them one at a time, waiting, then copying and pasting each result is where the hours go. A chat assistant does not save that time. Even when it accepts audio, files go into a conversation one at a time, long text gets shortened, and you end up stitching results together by hand.
Here you choose all the files in one go. Each file is cut into parts of up to ten minutes, every part is written out word for word by an AI speech model, and the parts are put back together per file.
What you download
- One merged Word, PDF or TXT document that opens with a list of every file and its duration
- Each file under its own heading in that document, in name order
- A ZIP with a separate TXT and SRT for every file, numbered like "01 name.txt" and "01 name.srt"
- The merged text inside the ZIP as well
How the total is counted
Price depends on total audio, not on the number of files. One payment of $5 covers a batch of up to 6 hours in total, whether that is three long files or 100 short ones. If the batch is longer, split it into two jobs, or use Unlimited at $19 a week, which allows up to 12 hours in total per job and can be cancelled any time.
Before you pay, the first part of the first file is shown free on screen, so you can judge the quality on your own recordings.
Tips for a clean batch
- Name files so they sort the way you want, for example with a date or number at the front
- Pick the spoken language if every file shares it; leave Auto-detect on for a mixed batch
- Add a translation language if you need one; it appears under every paragraph of every file
- Links are not accepted for bulk jobs, so download files from cloud storage first

Questions and answers
How many files can I upload at once?
Up to 100 files, or one ZIP of them, with 4 GB of uploads in total. A single file can be up to 2 GB.
Can ChatGPT transcribe several audio files at once?
It can work through a few short clips. With many or long files, upload limits and reply length tend to cut the transcripts short, and timestamps are not reliable, so you still end up splitting and stitching.
Is it priced per file?
No. One payment of $5 covers the whole batch up to 6 hours of audio in total. A batch of up to 15 minutes in total is free in full.
Can the files be in different languages?
Yes. Leave the spoken language on Auto-detect and each file is written in the language spoken in it.
Who can see the files?
Only you. They are sent to an AI model provider only to be transcribed and are not used to train models. You can delete the job at any time.
