English notes from an Arabic lecture recording
Upload a lecture given in Arabic and get the full transcript in Arabic script with an English translation under every paragraph, plus notes written in English: summary, chapters with timestamps, key points, key terms and study cards. Up to 15 minutes is free in full. A longer lecture is $5, paid once, for up to 6 hours.
- Spoken language Arabic, translation English, so the notes come out in English
- English terms said in the lecture stay in Latin letters in the Arabic transcript
- Key terms listed with the definition the lecturer gave
- Transcript in Arabic script as spoken, dialect included, without vowel marks
- Word, PDF, TXT, a study card CSV, and SRT or VTT downloads
Lectures that switch between Arabic and English
In many universities across the Arab world, medicine, pharmacy and engineering are taught in a mix: the explanation in Arabic, often colloquial, and the technical terms in English, or in French in much of North Africa. A pharmacology lecture may explain a mechanism in Egyptian Arabic and name every drug and receptor in English. The transcript keeps that mix as it was spoken, so a term such as "angiotensin" stays a word you can search for.
Because English is chosen as the translation, the notes are written in English. That suits students who study from English textbooks, international students who follow the Arabic only partly, and anyone preparing for an exam set in English.
What the notes contain
- A title and a short summary of the lecture
- Chapters with timestamps from the transcript and a one-line summary each
- Key points, in the order they came up
- Key terms with the definitions given in the lecture
- Assignments, readings and exam hints the lecturer mentioned
- Study cards as question and answer pairs, also as a CSV
Law and Sharia lectures
In a law lecture, article numbers, case names and Quran or hadith quotations matter. Article numbers are written as they were said, so check them against your code or textbook. Quotations are written in Arabic as spoken, and the English line under them is an AI translation, not an authoritative one. The notes never add a citation the lecturer did not give.
Limits
Notes use only what is in the transcript. If the lecturer referred to a slide or the board without reading it out, that content is missing. Big halls with echo, students chatting and a phone far from the lecturer all cause mistakes. While the job is locked, the notes cover only the free part, and the screen says so; after payment they are rewritten from the whole lecture.

Questions and answers
Can ChatGPT turn an Arabic lecture recording into notes?
For a few minutes of audio it may do well. A full lecture usually exceeds the audio length limit, and a long transcript is condensed before notes are written, so the later material is thin or missing.
Can I get the notes in Arabic instead?
Yes. Switch the translation off and the notes are written in Arabic, the language of the lecture. Choose French instead of English for French notes.
What does a two-hour lecture cost?
$5, once, for any lecture up to 6 hours. A recording of up to 15 minutes is free in full. Unlimited, $19 a week, covers up to 12 hours per recording; cancel any time.
Does it handle Maghrebi Arabic with French terms?
Yes. The Arabic is written in Arabic script and the French in Latin letters, as spoken. Strong dialect and poor audio make mistakes more likely, so read the free part first.
Who can see my lecture recording?
Only you. It is sent to an AI model provider to be processed and is not used to train models. You can delete the job at any time.
