Translate SRT subtitles into Bahasa Indonesia, every line in sync
Upload a movie or a season as SRT or VTT files and get each subtitle line in Indonesian, with the numbering and time codes kept from your files. The first part is free to view without signing up. One payment of $5 covers every file in the job, up to 30 files and 10,000 lines.
- Bahasa Indonesia, with Malay as a separate target
- Lines kept on their original time codes, never merged or split
- Formal or casual register chosen from the scene
- Up to 30 files at once, returned as one ZIP
- $5 for up to 10,000 lines
Every line, on its timing.
The numbers and time codes of your file are kept exactly; only the words change. Right-to-left languages get the marks players need to show punctuation in the right place.

Indonesian and Malay are separate targets
Indonesian and Malay grew from the same language, and readers of one understand much of the other, but vocabulary and spelling differ in ways viewers notice straight away. Indonesian says kantor for office where Malaysian Malay says pejabat, and polisi means police in Indonesian but policy in Malay. A subtitle in the wrong one reads as foreign, so the list has Indonesian and Malay as separate entries. This page selects Indonesian.
Formal and everyday Indonesian
Standard written Indonesian differs from everyday speech, with pronouns such as saya and Anda in formal language and aku, kamu, gue and lo in casual talk. Film subtitles usually need something between the two. The model is instructed to use the surrounding lines to get formality and tone right; check how it handles your characters in the free first part and adjust on screen where needed.

Why one long file is hard in a chat
In a chat window, the assistant has to retype the entire file, every number and time code included, and the longer the reply, the more likely it is to stop or lose its place. Here the file is parsed first, only the dialogue goes to the model in blocks of up to 60 lines, each line is matched back by its id, and the timing is taken from your upload, so the Indonesian lines up with the video from start to finish.

Questions and answers
Can ChatGPT translate an SRT file to Indonesian?
Indonesian is a language chat assistants handle well on short texts. The trouble is length: with a full film they tend to stop partway, merge lines or renumber them, and the subtitles fall out of sync.
Can I get Malay instead?
Yes. Choose Malay in the target list before you upload.
Can I translate Indonesian subtitles into English?
Yes. Upload the Indonesian file and choose English. There is no source language to set.
What is the price?
The first block is free to read on screen. Then $5, paid once, unlocks the whole job up to 10,000 lines. A job of 150 lines or fewer is free in full.
Are VTT files supported?
Yes. Upload SRT or VTT, up to 5 MB per file, and download either format.
