Script converter
Change the script of a long text, not its words
Upload a text, Word or Markdown file written in Finglish, Roman Urdu, Hinglish or Arabizi and get the same words back in Persian, Urdu, Devanagari or Arabic script, or go the other way into Latin letters. It transliterates, it does not translate: the language and every line stay the same. The first part is free with no sign-up; a file of up to about 200 pages is $5 as one payment. Chatbots convert a few lines well, but on long texts they tend to cut the text short, change the spelling halfway or slip into translating.
- Finglish ↔ Persian, Roman Urdu ↔ Urdu, Hinglish ↔ Devanagari, Arabizi ↔ Arabic, Urdu ↔ Hindi script
- Up to 40 paragraphs free in full; longer files start with a free first part
- Whole file $5, one payment: up to about 200 pages (600,000 characters)
- Every line break kept and checked: chats, lyrics and poems stay line for line
- .txt, Word (.docx) or Markdown back in the same format; Word set right to left where needed
- Everyday or scholarly Latin spelling (with diacritics) for the Latin direction
What you get back
You get your file back in the other script, in the same format: notes.txt becomes notes.fa.txt, letter.docx becomes letter.ur.docx. Before you download, every paragraph is shown next to the original, and you can correct any word.
- Standard spelling in the target script, not a letter-for-letter mapping: "khoobi" and "khubi" both become خوبی, "kya haal hai" becomes کیا حال ہے.
- English words, names, links, hashtags and emoji stay as they are unless they are normally written in the target script; names you list are never changed.
- In Word files, paragraphs are set right to left when the result is in Persian, Urdu or Arabic script, and left to right when it is in Latin letters.
- Line breaks are counted: a paragraph that comes back with a different number of lines is converted again; if it fails twice it keeps its original text and is listed.
Converting script with a chatbot, and with this tool
Chat assistants handle a sentence or two of Finglish or Roman Urdu well. The difficulty is a long text: a year of chat messages, a song book, a novel typed in Latin letters, or a family letter collection.
| Your situation | A chatbot | This tool |
|---|---|---|
| A few lines of Roman Urdu | Usually converts them well | Converts them and keeps the file |
| A 40-page Finglish text | Tends to stop partway or ask to continue | Converts every paragraph, up to about 200 pages in one job |
| Staying in the language | Sometimes translates into English instead of transliterating | Instructed to change only the script; meaning and word order stay |
| Line by line (lyrics, chats) | Can merge or drop lines | Line breaks checked in every paragraph |
| Consistent spelling | Spelling can change between replies | Same instructions and style for every block |
| A Word file | Gives back text without page direction | Same .docx, right to left or left to right as the script needs |

Why long transliteration trips up general AI assistants
Typing in Latin letters is how many people write Persian, Urdu, Hindi and Arabic on their phones, and there is no single spelling: "kheili", "kheyli" and "khaily" are the same word. Turning that into correct script means choosing the word a native reader would write, which assistants do well on short text.
On long text the problems are length and drift. A 40-page text does not fit in one reply, the assistant may switch to translating, and line breaks in lyrics or chat logs get merged. This tool sends the text in blocks of paragraphs with the same instructions every time, keeps your names unchanged, and checks that every paragraph comes back with the same number of lines.
What people convert
- Years of WhatsApp or Telegram messages typed in Finglish or Roman Urdu, into proper script for printing or translation
- Song lyrics and poems in Roman Urdu or Hinglish, line by line
- Novels and stories written online in Roman Urdu
- Urdu text into Devanagari for Hindi readers, and back
- Persian or Arabic text into Latin letters for readers who do not read the script, in everyday or scholarly spelling
Limits worth knowing
Transliteration keeps the language. If you need the meaning in English, use a translator instead. Latin-letter text is ambiguous by nature, so check names and rare words; listing them under "Never change" keeps them as written. Urdu and Hindi script conversion keeps the words: Persian-Arabic loanwords stay as they are in Hindi script, and Sanskrit words stay in Urdu script.
One payment covers up to about 200 pages (600,000 characters) in up to 10 files of up to 20 MB; Unlimited covers about 400 pages per job. Scanned pages are images: turn them into text with Scanned PDF to Word first.

Questions and answers
Can ChatGPT convert Finglish to Persian script?
For a few lines, usually yes. For a long text it tends to stop partway, change the spelling between replies or translate instead of transliterating. This tool converts every paragraph with the same rules and returns the same file.
Is this translation?
No. Only the script changes. A Roman Urdu sentence comes back as the same Urdu sentence in Urdu script, not in English.
Which directions are supported?
Finglish to Persian and back, Roman Urdu to Urdu and back, Hinglish to Devanagari and back, Arabizi (Franco-Arabic, with 3, 7 and 2 for letters) to Arabic and back, and Urdu script to Devanagari and back.
Are line breaks kept?
Yes. Each paragraph must come back with the same number of lines; one that does not is converted again, and if it still fails it keeps its original text and is listed.
What about English words in the text?
They stay in Latin letters unless they are normally written in the target script. Names you list under "Never change" are kept exactly.
Which files can I upload?
Plain text (.txt), Word (.docx) and Markdown (.md), up to 10 files of up to 20 MB in one job. For a chat or lyrics, paste the text into a .txt file.
Is it free?
The first part of every file is converted free and shown on screen. A text of up to 40 paragraphs is free in full. A longer file is $5, paid once.
Is my text private?
Only you can open your job. The text is sent to an AI model provider only to convert it and is not used for training. Jobs uploaded without an account are deleted after 7 days, and you can delete a job at any time.
