Translate a Google Slides presentation, every slide, design kept

Google Slides does not translate a whole presentation by itself. Download it as a PowerPoint file, upload it here, choose a language, and import the translated deck back into Google Slides: every slide title, text box, table and speaker note translated, design and images kept. The first slides are free without an account; the whole deck is $5.

Why not translate slide by slide?

Copying each text box into a translator and back is slow, and it loses formatting inside a line, such as a highlighted figure. Add-ons that translate slides one at a time help, but a long deck still means hours of clicking. Here the whole presentation is translated inside the file in one job, and text boxes where the translation is longer get a smaller text scale so the layout holds.

Fonts are not changed: the .pptx keeps the font names from your deck, so Google Slides uses the same fonts when you open the translated file.

Good to know

Comments, linked charts from Google Sheets and text inside images are not translated. Embedded videos stay linked as they were in the exported file. For right-to-left languages, paragraphs are set right to left and right-aligned in the file, and Google Slides shows them that way after import.

How the tool works, what it costs and how your files are handled is on the Translate PowerPoint page; prices for every tool are on the pricing page.

Questions and answers

Does Google Slides have a built-in translate for the whole deck?

Not for a whole presentation. You can translate text with separate tools or add-ons, one piece at a time. This tool translates the exported .pptx in one job.

Will my animations come back?

Animations and transitions that Google Slides exports to .pptx are kept in the translated file and come back when you import it.

What does it cost?

$5, paid once, for typically about 300 slides. A deck with up to 40 paragraphs of text is free in full.

Is my presentation private?

Only you can open your job. The text is sent to an AI model provider only to translate it and is not used for training. Jobs uploaded without an account are deleted after 7 days.
