Small errors that break Persian text
Persian and Arabic share an alphabet but not every letter. Arabic ي and ك look almost the same as Persian ی and ک, and OCR output often mixes them. The text looks fine on screen, but search fails, spell-check marks every word, and a translation tool may treat the text as Arabic. The half-space is similar: without it, می شود becomes two words, and with a full space the word breaks across lines.
The reader is told the text is Persian, to use Persian ی and ک, and to keep half-spaces as printed. Long scans are read page by page, so page 120 gets the same attention as page 1.
Dari and older Persian
For Afghan publications, choose Dari: the same script and letter rules apply. Older Persian printing, with different letter shapes or classical spelling, is copied as printed, not modernized. Poetry is kept line by line.
