Translate a README into Chinese without touching the code

Upload README.md, or the whole docs folder as a .zip, and get it back in Simplified or Traditional Chinese with the Markdown exact: code blocks, commands, badges, link targets and tables untouched, only the prose translated. The first part is free without an account; up to 1,000,000 characters is $5.

What goes wrong when a README is translated in a chat

A README is half code. Assistants translating it in one reply sometimes translate comments inside code blocks, change command flags, rewrite badge URLs or translate the anchor part of a link, and nothing flags it. For a long README with many sections, the reply may also stop before the end.

Here code blocks are skipped entirely, inline code and every link or image address are replaced with markers that must come back unchanged, and only text the reader sees is translated. Tables keep their pipes and alignment row; headings keep their anchors.

Simplified or Traditional

Choose Chinese (Simplified) for mainland China and Singapore, Chinese (Traditional) for Taiwan and Hong Kong. Technical terms with established Chinese forms are translated, terms commonly left in English in Chinese developer writing, such as API names, stay in English, and you can fix any term in the glossary, for example "pull request = 拉取请求" or keep it in English under "Never translate".

Typical uses

  • Open-source projects adding README.zh-Hans.md for Chinese contributors
  • SDK and API docs for Chinese-speaking customers
  • Internal wikis exported as Markdown for teams in China
  • Course notes and tutorials written in Markdown

How the tool works, what it costs and how your files are handled is on the Translate Markdown Docs page; prices for every tool are on the pricing page.
