Convert a scanned Pashto book into Word, with Pashto letters kept
Upload a scanned Pashto PDF and get every page back as editable Pashto text in a Word file, right to left, with the letters that make Pashto Pashto, ټ ډ ړ ږ ښ ګ ڼ ې ۍ, written as printed rather than replaced with their Persian or Arabic neighbors. The first page is free without an account; a book of up to 300 pages is $5.
- Pashto letters kept: ټ ډ ړ ږ ښ ګ ڼ ې ۍ ئ
- Right-to-left paragraphs and tables in Word
- Every page read separately, up to 300 pages
- Unsure words highlighted in yellow
- Plain text download too, one block per page
Pashto is not Persian with extra dots
Pashto adds letters to the Perso-Arabic alphabet for sounds Persian does not have. An OCR tool or AI model that knows Persian better than Pashto tends to write the nearest Persian letter instead: ت for ټ, د for ډ, س or ش for ښ, ک or گ for ګ. Each substitution is small, but together they make a text that Pashto readers find odd and that search tools cannot match.
This tool tells the reader the text is Pashto and lists the Pashto letters that must be kept, then reads every page of the scan on its own. Uncertain words are marked for you to check rather than smoothed over.
