What you get back
Minutes for the people who were not there, and the full transcript underneath for anyone who needs to check what was actually said.
- A title and a short summary of the meeting.
- Participants as the transcript labels them, with a role when it is clear from what they say.
- Topics in the order they came up, each with its timestamp and a short summary.
- Decisions that were clearly agreed; proposals nobody agreed to are left out.
- Action items: the task, the owner when one is named, a due date only when one is said, and the moment in the recording.
- Open questions and points left for later.
- Below the minutes, the full transcript with a speaker and a timestamp on every paragraph, and an optional translation under each one.
Doing it in a chatbot, and with this tool
A chat assistant can summarize a short call or a transcript you paste in. A long recording has to be written out in full, with speakers, before anyone can say who agreed to what.
| What you need | A chatbot | This tool |
|---|---|---|
| A summary of a short call or pasted notes | Usually does this well | Also fine, and a meeting up to 15 minutes is free in full |
| A two-hour recorded meeting | File too long to upload, or a shortened summary | Up to 6 hours per job, transcribed in full |
| Who said what | Speakers often blurred together | A speaker label on every paragraph |
| Decisions versus ideas | Proposals can read like decisions | Only clearly agreed decisions listed |
| Tasks to track | A bullet list to copy out | Action items CSV with owner, due date and time in the recording |
| A record to share | Text in a chat window | Word, PDF and TXT with minutes first, then the transcript |
How to turn a meeting recording into minutes
-
1
Get the recording file
Download the MP4 or M4A from your Zoom, Teams or Meet recording, or use a phone or recorder file. Upload it (up to 2 GB) or paste a public Google Drive, Dropbox or direct file link.
-
2
Read the first part free
The first part is transcribed on screen with speaker labels, along with minutes for that part; the screen says how far they go.
-
3
Unlock and download
Pay $5 for the whole meeting. The minutes are written again from every minute; download Word, PDF or TXT, the action items CSV, or SRT and VTT.
Why a long meeting trips up a chat assistant
Chat assistants that accept audio limit how long a file can be, and free plans often cannot upload audio at all. A two-hour meeting holds far more words than fit in one reply, so a transcript gets shortened or stops partway, and a summary made from part of the call can miss a decision taken near the end. Without speaker labels, it is also hard to say who took on which task.
Here the recording is cut into parts of up to ten minutes. Each part is written out in full by an AI speech model, with every paragraph starting with its speaker, and the parts are joined in order with timestamps from the start of the file. The minutes are then written from the finished transcript, using only what is said in it.
No bot, no meeting platform
Nothing joins your call and nothing connects to your Zoom, Teams or Google account. You record the meeting the way you normally do and upload the file afterwards, so it also works for in-person meetings, board meetings recorded on a phone, and calls on platforms without a built-in summary. You pay for that one recording, once.
- Team meetings, stand-ups and project reviews
- Board, committee, council and association meetings
- Client and sales calls you need a record of
- Webinars and all-hands sessions
- Meetings held in two languages, with a translation under each paragraph
Speaker names and the minutes
Speakers are labeled "Speaker 1:", "Speaker 2:" and so on, with a real name only when it is said in the recording. The audio is handled in ten-minute parts and numbers are given per part, so on a long meeting the same person can carry a different number later on. Use Find and replace on screen to put in names before you download.
Find and replace changes the transcript, not the minutes: the minutes keep the labels they were written with. Check participant names and action item owners in the Word file before you send it round.
Accuracy and limits
The transcript is made by an AI speech model and the minutes are written by AI from it, so read both before you share them. People talking over each other, a laptop microphone far from the room and poor connections cause mistakes, and unclear words are marked [inaudible]. A decision or a due date only appears if it was said clearly enough to be written down.
The minutes are a working draft, not an approved or certified record of the meeting. While the job is locked they cover only the free part; after payment they are rewritten from the whole recording.

Questions and answers
How do I turn a meeting recording into minutes?
Upload the recording here, read the free first part with its minutes, then unlock the whole meeting for $5. You get minutes and the full transcript with speakers as Word, PDF or TXT, plus the action items as a CSV.
Can ChatGPT write minutes from a meeting recording?
For a short call or a transcript you paste in, it often can. A long recording tends to exceed upload limits, and its transcript does not fit in one reply, so the minutes come from part of the meeting. This tool writes out every minute with speakers first, then makes the minutes from all of it.
Does a bot need to join my Zoom or Teams call?
No. Nothing joins the call and nothing connects to your account. You download the recording after the meeting and upload it, or paste a shareable link to the file.
What is in the action items CSV?
One row per action item with four columns: Task, Owner, Due and Time in recording. The owner is filled in only when someone is named, and the due date only when one was said.
How are decisions told apart from suggestions?
The minutes list only decisions that were clearly agreed in the recording; proposals that were discussed but not agreed are left out. Since the minutes are written by AI, check the decisions against the transcript.
Can it handle a meeting in two languages?
Yes. Each speaker is written in the language they used, and you can add a translation under every paragraph. If you choose a translation language, the minutes are written in that language.
How much does it cost?
A meeting of up to 15 minutes is free in full. A longer one is $5 for the whole recording, paid once, for up to 6 hours. Unlimited costs $19 a week (it renews weekly, cancel any time) and covers recordings up to 12 hours per job.
Who can see the recording?
Only you can open your job. The audio is sent to an AI model provider only to be processed and is not used to train models. Jobs started without an account are deleted after 7 days, and you can delete a job yourself at any time.
