Turn a Zoom, Teams or Google Meet recording into a transcript and minutes

Upload the MP4 or M4A of a long Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Google Meet call and get the whole conversation written out, with a speaker label on every paragraph, plus minutes: decisions, action items and open questions. No bot joins your meetings and no subscription is needed. Up to 15 minutes is free in full; a longer recording is $5, up to 6 hours.

How to get minutes from a recorded call

  1. 1

    Download the recording

Get the MP4 or M4A from the cloud recording or find the local file on your computer.

  2. 2

    Upload and preview

Drop it here, no account needed, and read the first part of the transcript free on screen.

  3. 3

    Unlock the whole meeting

Pay $5 once, rename the speakers, and download the minutes, the transcript and the action items CSV.

Getting the recording file

Each platform saves recordings in one of two ways. A cloud recording is stored in your account online and can be downloaded as a video or audio file; Zoom cloud recordings usually include an MP4 with video and an M4A with audio only, Teams recordings are generally kept in OneDrive or SharePoint, and Meet recordings go to the organizer's Google Drive. A local recording is saved straight to the computer that recorded it. Either kind works here.

You can upload the file, up to 2 GB, or paste a link to it from Google Drive, Dropbox or a direct file address, as long as the link can be opened without signing in. The M4A is smaller and uploads faster; the transcript is the same.

Why not a meeting bot or a chat assistant

Meeting assistants join the call as a participant and need a subscription, and some guests do not like a bot in the room. Here nothing joins anything: you record the meeting as you normally would and upload the file afterwards. You pay for that one recording, once.

Pasting a two-hour recording into a chat assistant tends to fail in other ways. The file is often too long to upload, and when a transcript is produced it does not fit in one reply, so it is shortened or stops partway. A chat assistant is fine for summarizing a short clip; for a long call it is better to have every minute written out first.

What the minutes contain

  • A title and a short summary of the meeting
  • Participants as labeled in the transcript, with a role when it is clear from what they say
  • Topics in the order they came up, each with its timestamp
  • Decisions that were clearly agreed; proposals nobody agreed to are left out
  • Action items with the owner when named and a due date only when one was said
  • Open questions that were raised and not settled

Speaker names on a long call

Labels read "Speaker 1:", "Speaker 2:" and so on, with real names only when people say them in the recording. The audio is processed in ten-minute parts and numbers are assigned per part, so on a long call the same colleague can carry a different number later on. Use Find and replace on screen to put in names before downloading Word, PDF or TXT (minutes first, then the full transcript).

Questions and answers

Does this connect to my Zoom or Teams account?

No. It does not join calls or read your account. You download the recording and upload it, or paste a shareable link to the file.

Can ChatGPT transcribe a 2-hour Teams recording?

Usually not in full. Long files often exceed upload limits, and a long transcript does not fit in one reply, so it tends to be summarized or cut off. This tool writes out each ten-minute part and joins them.

What does it cost?

A meeting of up to 15 minutes is free in full. Anything longer is $5 once for the whole recording, up to 6 hours. If you record meetings every day, Unlimited is $19 a week, up to 12 hours per job, cancel any time.

Can it handle a meeting in several languages?

Yes. Each speaker is written in the language they used, and you can add a translation under every paragraph.

Who sees the recording?

Only you. It is sent to an AI model provider only for processing, is not used for training, and you can delete the job at any time.
