Convert long Roman Urdu into Urdu script with correct spelling
Upload a .txt, Word or Markdown file in Roman Urdu, such as "aap kaise hain? main theek hoon", and get it back in Urdu script with the spelling an Urdu reader expects: آپ کیسے ہیں؟ میں ٹھیک ہوں۔ Novels, lyrics and chats keep every line. The first part is free without an account; a text of up to about 200 pages is $5.
- Urdu letters as Urdu writes them: ٹ ڈ ڑ ں ے ہ ھ
- Spelling chosen by word, not letter by letter: "zindagi" becomes زندگی
- Urdu punctuation: ۔ ، ؟
- English words kept in English unless commonly written in Urdu
- Word files come back right to left
From Latin letters to Nastaliq
Roman Urdu is how much Urdu is typed on phones and social media, and there is no single way to spell it: "hai", "hy" and "he" are the same word. Writing it in Urdu script means choosing between letters that sound alike, such as س, ص and ث, or ہ and ح, and getting nasal ں and the two forms of ی and ے right. This tool asks for the spelling a native reader would write.
The output is Urdu in Unicode. To see it in Nastaliq, the style most readers expect, use a Nastaliq font such as Jameel Noori Nastaleeq or Urdu Typesetting in Word; the text is the same either way.
Long texts stay consistent
Online novels written in Roman Urdu run to hundreds of pages, and lyric collections and chat archives are long too. Here the text is converted in blocks with the same instructions every time, so the same word is spelled the same way in the first chapter and the last, and every paragraph is checked to keep its number of lines.
What people convert

How the tool works, what it costs and how your files are handled is on the Transliterate Text page; prices for every tool are on the pricing page.
