Every word of a long lecture, plus notes and study cards from it

Upload a two or three hour lecture, class or seminar and get the complete transcript with timestamps, then notes written from that transcript: summary, chapters, key terms, exam hints and study cards. The transcript is the full record; the notes only point into it. Up to 15 minutes is free in full; a longer class is $5 for the whole recording, up to 6 hours.

Turn a lecture into notes

Google Drive or Dropbox share links (set to “anyone with the link”) and direct file links work.

No sign-up. Up to 15 minutes free in full, notes included. Longer: the first part and its notes free, the whole recording with full notes $5, one payment.

By continuing you agree to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

  • The full transcript, every minute, with a timestamp on each paragraph
  • Chapters with timestamps and one-line summaries
  • Key terms with the definitions the lecturer gave
  • Study cards as a two-column CSV for Anki or Quizlet
  • Up to 6 hours for $5, in the lecture language or translated

The transcript first, then the notes

A long class is not something you want summarized from the start. Professors say the important thing once, in passing, at minute 97. So the recording is cut into parts of up to ten minutes, each part is written out in full, and the parts are joined in order. Only when the whole transcript exists are the notes written from it.

The notes use only what was said in the recording. Every timestamp in the notes is taken from the transcript, so you can jump from a chapter heading to the exact paragraph. Nothing from outside the lecture is added: no textbook definitions, no examples the lecturer did not give. If a point in the notes looks wrong, the transcript is the place to check.

What the notes contain

  • A title and a short summary of the whole class
  • Chapters with start times and one line on each
  • Key points and key terms with the definitions given in the lecture
  • Assignments, readings and exam hints the lecturer mentioned
  • Study cards as question and answer pairs, also downloadable as a CSV with front and back columns and no header

Lectures in Spanish, Arabic, Hindi or Portuguese

The transcript is written in the language the lecturer spoke, technical English terms included as they were said, which is common in engineering and medicine classes taught in Hindi, Arabic or Spanish. If you choose a translation language, every paragraph gets a translation underneath and the notes and study cards are written in that language. Without one, the notes come out in the language of the lecture.

A lecture recorded from the back row with a phone is harder than one from a lapel microphone. Questions from students far from the recorder are often the least clear part, so check names, formulas spoken aloud and numbers.

Free part and full price

Before you pay, the first part of the transcript is shown free, and notes are written for that free part only; the screen says so. After you pay $5, the notes are rewritten from every minute of the class. Downloads are Word, PDF and TXT with notes first and the full transcript after, the study card CSV, and SRT or VTT if you want to watch the recording with captions. You can upload the file or paste a link from Google Drive or Dropbox; YouTube links are not accepted here.

Questions and answers

Why did ChatGPT only summarize my 2-hour lecture?

A full transcript of a two-hour class is far longer than one reply, so chat assistants tend to summarize it or stop partway, and many will not take an audio file that long. This tool writes out the whole recording first and makes notes from that.

Do the notes add information that was not in the lecture?

No. Notes and study cards are written only from the transcript, and their timestamps come from it.

How much is one lecture, and a whole semester?

One recording of up to 6 hours is $5, paid once. For several classes a week, Unlimited at $19 a week covers every lecture up to 12 hours each; cancel whenever you like.

Can I import the study cards into Anki or Quizlet?

Yes. The CSV has two columns, front and back, with no header row, which both apps can import.

Is my recording private?

Only you can see it. It goes to an AI model provider only to be processed and is not used for training. Jobs started without an account are deleted after 7 days.
