Why the letters matter in a Polish transcript
Text typed without Polish characters is readable for a Pole, but it is a poor record. "Kat" is an executioner and "kąt" is an angle; "laska" and "łaska" are different words too. A transcript that drops diacritics also breaks search: look for "źle" and you will not find "zle". Here the Polish is written in proper Unicode with every diacritic, so it can be searched, quoted and pasted into Word or a thesis template without retyping.
Wywiady for a praca licencjacka or magisterska
An in-depth interview of an hour or two is common material for a Polish thesis, and your promotor will want it written out in full. Every paragraph starts with a timestamp, and a clear change of speaker starts a new paragraph labeled "Speaker 1:" or "Speaker 2:". Rename them to Badacz and Respondent, or to initials, using Find and replace on screen. Fillers, repetitions and colloquial forms are left as spoken, because the tool is told not to tidy speech.
If the thesis is written in English, or a co-supervisor does not read Polish, pick English under "Also translate": the English goes under each Polish paragraph and the original stays first, so quotes can be checked against it.
Polish speakers abroad
Many long Polish recordings come from families and workers in the UK, Ireland, the US and Germany. Speech there picks up English: "mam jutro shift", "dzwonił landlord". Each word is written in the language it was said in, so the English stays English and nothing is silently translated. That matters for a call with an employer or landlord that a solicitor or employment adviser needs to follow.
Silesian and Kashubian are not separate entries in the language list. With Polish selected they are written as heard, but regional words may be bent toward standard Polish or marked [inaudible]; check them in the free first part.

Why does ChatGPT stop partway through my Polish recording?
A long transcript does not fit in one chat reply, so assistants tend to shorten it, summarize it or stop. Many free plans cannot take audio uploads at all. This tool cuts the recording into parts, transcribes each in full and joins them in order.
Will the transcript keep ą, ę and ł?
Yes. Polish is written with all its diacritics as standard Unicode text, in the on-screen editor and in every download.
Can this replace a tłumacz przysięgły?
No. The transcript and translation are drafts made by AI and are not certified. For an official document you still need a sworn translator; this text helps you find what needs translating.
How much for a two-hour interview?
$5 for the whole recording, and the same price for anything up to 6 hours. A recording of up to 15 minutes costs nothing, downloads included. Unlimited, $19 a week, suits a week with many interviews.
Is my recording private?
Only you can open it. It is sent to an AI model provider just to be transcribed and is never used to train models. Jobs started without an account disappear after 7 days, and you can delete a job sooner.
