Turn a long Korean recording into Hangul text

Upload a Korean audio or video file of up to 6 hours and get the complete transcript in Hangul, with spaces between words and a timestamp at every paragraph. An English translation can go under each paragraph for readers who do not read Korean. Up to 15 minutes is free in full; for a longer file the first part is free and the whole recording costs $5, once.

Speech levels stay as they were

Korean grammar marks the relationship between speakers. A pastor addressing a congregation uses formal endings such as -습니다, a team meeting may run on polite -요 forms, and old friends switch to banmal. The tool writes the endings that were spoken, so the transcript shows who spoke to whom and how. Rewriting everything into one level would lose that, and it is not done.

This matters most in research interviews: a shift from polite to casual speech during a long conversation can be part of what you study.

Spacing, loanwords and Hanja

Korean is written with spaces between word units, and spacing rules are a known difficulty even for native writers. The transcript applies standard spacing as well as the model can; if your department or publisher is strict about spacing, give the text a pass with a Korean spell checker. English loanwords that are part of Korean, such as 미팅 or 프로젝트, are written in Hangul as spoken. A sentence said in English may appear in Latin letters.

Hanja are not added, and the transcript is not romanized. For readers who need it in English, choose English under "Also translate".

Satoori and Korean spoken abroad

Gyeongsang and Jeolla speech are written as heard in Hangul. Jeju speech differs a great deal from Seoul speech and may come out with mistakes or [inaudible] marks, so look at the free first part first. Korean American and Korean Canadian families often mix English into Korean; each language is written in its own script.

Questions and answers

Can ChatGPT transcribe a long Korean sermon?

For a short clip it can be useful. A sermon or service of an hour or more tends to exceed the audio limits of chat assistants or come back as a shortened text without reliable timestamps. Here the recording is transcribed part by part and joined in order.

How are Korean names written in the English translation?

In the transcript they stay in Hangul. In English, a name can be romanized several ways, for example Lee, Yi or Rhee for 이, so replace names with the spelling each person uses.

Can I get only Korean, without English?

Yes. Set "Also translate" to none before uploading, and the transcript is Korean only.

What does a long recording cost?

$5, paid once, for up to 6 hours. Up to 15 minutes is free in full. Unlimited, $19 a week, covers recordings of up to 12 hours and every tool; cancel any time.

Who can see what I upload?

Only you. Your file is sent to an AI model provider to be transcribed and is not used to train models. Jobs without an account are deleted after 7 days; you can delete yours at any moment.
