Why the transcript has no vowel points
Modern Hebrew is normally written without niqqud. Vowel points appear in prayer books, poetry and books for young children, but an adult reader expects unpointed text and supplies the vowels from context. The transcript follows that norm. Words that share the same letters are told apart the way a reader always tells them apart, by the sentence around them.
Because niqqud is not added, this is not a tool for checking how a text was read aloud, such as a Torah reading or a child learning to read. For a shiur, a lecture or a conversation, unpointed Hebrew is exactly what you would write yourself.
Hebrew mixed with English, Russian and Arabic
Israeli speech borrows freely. A startup meeting is full of English terms, a family call may move into Russian, and many workplaces mix Hebrew and Arabic. Each language is written in its own script: English in Latin letters, Russian in Cyrillic, Arabic in Arabic script. Nothing is translated unless you choose a translation, so a quote stays exactly what was said.
Choose Hebrew as the spoken language when Hebrew is the main language, even if the recording opens with an English introduction.
Right to left in each download
- On screen, Hebrew paragraphs read right to left and can be edited directly
- The PDF sets every paragraph that starts in Hebrew right to left
- The Word file keeps the Hebrew exactly but lays paragraphs out left to right; switch the paragraph direction in Word for right-aligned text
- TXT is plain Unicode, so it pastes cleanly into Google Docs, email or a messaging app
- In SRT and VTT files the English line, if you chose one, sits under the Hebrew line
Yiddish, Ladino and other Jewish languages
Yiddish is written in Hebrew letters but is a separate language with Germanic roots, and it is not in the language list. With Hebrew selected, Yiddish passages may be misread as Hebrew or marked [inaudible]. Ladino is not in the list either. For a recording that is mostly Yiddish, leave the language on Auto-detect and judge the free first part before paying. A Hebrew shiur with a Yiddish phrase here and there can stay on Hebrew, but check those phrases.

Can ChatGPT transcribe a long Hebrew recording?
A short clip, often yes. A recording of an hour or more tends to run into file limits or come back shortened, with no reliable timestamps. This tool transcribes the whole file part by part and keeps the order.
Can I get the Hebrew with niqqud?
No. The transcript is unpointed Hebrew, which is how modern Hebrew is normally written.
Can it translate Hebrew into English for a lawyer?
Yes. Choose English under "Also translate", and the English appears under each Hebrew paragraph. It is an AI translation to check, not a certified one.
How much is a two-hour shiur?
$5 for the whole recording, the same for anything up to 6 hours. Up to 15 minutes is free in full, downloads included. Unlimited, $19 a week, allows up to 12 hours per job.
Who can see my file?
Only you. It is sent to an AI model provider to be transcribed and is not used to train models. Jobs started without an account are deleted after 7 days, and you can delete a job at any time.
