Transcribe a whole backlog of voice memos in one go

If months of journal entries, ideas and reminders are sitting in your recorder app, upload them all at once, up to 200 files or one ZIP. Every memo is transcribed and placed in recording order under its date, and a CSV gives you one row per memo to sort and search. Up to 6 hours in total costs $5, paid once; a batch of up to 15 minutes is free in full.

Transcribe all your voice memos at once

No sign-up. Memos of up to 15 minutes in total are free in full. More: the first part free, every memo $5, one payment.

Why the backlog keeps growing

Recording a thought takes ten seconds. Finding it again by listening takes far longer, so memos pile up unheard: a business idea from March, a dream you meant to remember, a list of names for the dog. Without text there is nothing to search, and scrolling past rows of "Recording 214" is no help.

One batch turns the pile into something you can read. The document follows the order you recorded things in, which suits a spoken journal: you can read a month of entries straight through, each with its date and a timestamp at the start of every paragraph.

Searching and sorting with the CSV

  • Open the CSV in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets; each memo is one row
  • Sort by date to rebuild your timeline, or by duration to find the long recordings worth reading first
  • Filter the text column for a word, such as a client name or "idea", to pull out every memo that mentions it
  • Paste a month of rows into a chat assistant to summarize them; it handles that amount of text well
  • Use the Word or PDF document for reading and the CSV for finding

One price for the whole batch

You do not pay per memo. The limit is total listening time: everything up to 6 hours in one job costs $5. Short notes add up slowly, so a full batch of 200 quick memos can fit in one payment, while a handful of hour-long recordings fills it fast.

For an archive bigger than one job, split it by year or by folder and run several jobs, or use Unlimited at $19 a week, which allows 12 hours per job. Memos whose date cannot be found are placed after the dated ones, in name order, so nothing is dropped.

Questions and answers

Can ChatGPT transcribe hundreds of voice memos?

It manages a single short memo well enough. A backlog means attaching files one at a time, often against a daily audio cap, then stitching the results together yourself with no recording dates.

How much does it cost to transcribe all my memos?

A batch of up to 15 minutes in total is free in full. Anything larger is $5, paid once, for up to 200 files and 6 hours of audio. Unlimited costs $19 a week.

What happens to memos with no date?

They are transcribed like the rest and listed after the dated memos, sorted by file name, with only the name in their heading.

Will I pay twice if I upload the same memo twice?

No. Identical files are counted once, which helps when you export overlapping sets from your phone.

Can I get my memos translated?

Yes. Choose a translation language and a translation appears under every paragraph of the document.

Are my journal memos private?

Only you can open the job. The audio is sent to an AI model provider only to be transcribed and is not used to train models. Jobs started without an account are deleted after 7 days, and you can delete a job whenever you want.
