A recording in a language you do not speak, written out word for word with English under it
Upload a phone call, a voice message, a meeting or a video, and every word is written out in the language it was spoken in, with an English translation under each paragraph and the time it was said. The first part is shown free on screen. A recording of up to 15 minutes is free in full; a longer one is $5, one payment for the whole file, up to 6 hours.

Word for word, not a summary
When you need to know what was said, a summary is not enough. Each paragraph is written out as it was spoken, in its own script, and the English translation sits directly under it, so a friend or interpreter who speaks the language can check any line against the original.
If the speakers switch between languages, each part is written in the language it was said in. Names, numbers and places are kept as spoken.
Recordings that are hard to hear
Phone calls, rooms with an echo and several people talking at once lead to more mistakes, and words that cannot be heard are marked [inaudible] rather than guessed. For Pashto, Tigrinya and Kurdish, recognition is less reliable than for widely spoken languages: read the free first part before you pay.
Only upload recordings you have the right to use. Recording a conversation without the other person's consent is illegal in some places.

How long can the recording be?
Up to 6 hours for one payment of $5, and up to 12 hours per job with Unlimited.
Can I get the translation in another language?
Yes. Choose the target language before you start, or translate the finished job into any language in the list.
I have many short voice notes, not one recording.
Use the voice notes page instead: upload all the notes or a ZIP, and they are written out and translated one by one in the order they were sent.
Is this a certified translation?
No. It is a machine transcription and translation for understanding the recording. If a court or an office needs a certified translation, a qualified translator can work from this text.
Is my recording private?
Only you can open your job. The audio is sent to an AI model provider only to be transcribed and translated and is not used to train models. Jobs started without an account are deleted after 7 days, and you can delete a job at any time.
