WhatsApp voice notes in another language, written out and translated into English
Upload the voice notes as they are: the .opus files saved from WhatsApp or Telegram, a ZIP of them, or a folder. Each note is written out word for word in the language it was spoken in, with an English translation under it, under a heading with its date and time, oldest first. You do not need the chat export. Notes of up to 15 minutes in total are free in full; more cost $5, paid once, for up to 6 hours in total.
- .opus, .ogg, .m4a and .mp3 voice notes, or a ZIP of them, up to 200 per job
- Sorted by the date and time in WhatsApp and Telegram file names, such as PTT-20260502-WA0012.opus
- The original words in their own script, with English under each note
- Word, PDF or TXT document, plus a CSV with one row per note
- Up to 6 hours of notes for $5, one payment
When you only have the voice notes
Often the messages that matter are voice notes: a relative explaining something in Urdu, a landlord in Arabic, a client in Dari, a partner's family in Tagalog. You may have saved the audio files but not the chat, or the chat export is too large. Upload the notes alone and they are put back in the order they were sent, using the date and time WhatsApp and Telegram write into each file name.
Each note gets a heading with its date, time and file name, then the words as they were said, then the English translation. If a note mixes two languages, each part is written in its own language.
Check the free part first
Speech recognition is strong in widely spoken languages and weaker in some others. For Pashto, Tigrinya and Kurdish, expect more mistakes, especially in noisy notes. The first notes are written out free on screen before you pay, so you can see the quality for your language and your recordings.
Parts that cannot be heard are marked [inaudible] instead of being guessed. You can correct any line on screen before you download.
How the tool works, what it costs and how your files are handled is on the Voice Memos to Text page; prices for every tool are on the pricing page.

Questions and answers
Do I need to export the whole chat?
No. Upload only the voice notes. If you also want the written messages in the same document, use the WhatsApp chat to PDF tool with the chat export instead.
How are the notes put in order?
By the date and time in the file name, which WhatsApp and Telegram add when the note is saved. If a name has no date, the date stored inside the file or in the ZIP is used, and notes without any date come last in name order.
Can the translation be in a language other than English?
Yes. Choose any of the languages in the list before you start, or translate the finished job into another one.
Is this a certified translation?
No. It is a machine transcription and translation for understanding the notes. Courts and immigration offices may ask for a translation certified by a person; you can give them this text as a starting point.
Are my voice notes private?
Only you can open your job. The audio is sent to an AI model provider only to be transcribed and translated and is not used to train models. Jobs started without an account are deleted after 7 days, and you can delete a job at any time.
